    Default Truth about baby food...

    http://www.thealphaparent.com/2013/0...-jars.html?m=1

No judgement from me as I have used baby food in jars and pouches, however I thought it was an interesting and enlightening read in places.

I think the legislation parts are based upon the British system, but I would imagine there are similar issues in Australia.

Don't like the add for baby bullet at the end. A bit cheeky.

Sorry it's too big to post as text for those on the phone.

Well that's a sh!t-load of scaremongering in one post!

I agree, make your own when you can, but sheesh, that was over the top.

I've used them before as well. Won't be this time. I'd already decided this prior to reading the article but this reading just reaffirms my decision.

    Default Truth about baby food...

About to go read the article but I thought most people made their own baby food anyway? (Unless I've been reading too many blw threads lol)

Edit: I got bored reading it after the bananas.

It's not telling us what we don't already know or whats not accurate so don't know if its 'scaremongering' per se... I steer clear of packaged baby food for these reasons but I know some mums have no choice due to work schedules or fussy babies

ROFL I love the comments at the bottom.

I used Raffety's sometimes for DD and will be using them more for DS. Doing your own is messy and when rejected time wasting. Btw DD was the easiest bub when it came to food.

I don't get buying baby food either but with BLW you don't need to!

I assumed most people know that most jarred/packet baby food is not healthy/good for baby? I thought it was more of a convenience thing like fast food? Do people really only feed their child commercial baby food ( not being smart but I've never personally known any one that did)

I didnt read the whole article either I got to the bit about water being the most used ingredient. Usually water will be the main ingredient in sauce lmao especially for babies who could probably not stomach the richness of a meat stock. *shrugs shoulders* each to their own

Now that I think about it, my bestie fed only the commercial food to her kids until they had teeth and started eating her food. That stuff is gross anyway, ick.
