    Default Heart Murmurs....

Like others have said they are quite common with babies. They can also appear when they have a viral infection and then disappear again. Big hugs

    Default Heart Murmurs....

Doctors picked up a heart murmur with me and the only inconvenience is that I have to have an ECG when pregnant.

My ds1 suddenly got one too, went to the doctor for a cold, walked out with a cardiologist referral. $440 for a 10 min consult and they weren't concerned at all. He still has it 3 years later, and he is fine. Try not to stress!

    Hi
Try not to worry, my DD had a heart murmur that was found at 10 weeks, she was sick all the time and was always at the dr and it was never picked up. She went to the cardiologist at 11months she had a PDA which was repaired at 13months, she is doing well now still gets sick very quickly but otherwise healthy heart wise.

most heart murmurs are nothing and go away as kids grow.

Ds2 has got a murmur. It was picked up at 11 weeks old when the murmur sound didn't go away. He was diagnosed with aortic valve stenosis at 4 months. Apart from the avs he is healthy, it hasn't worsened and we can treat him the same as his brother and sister, no surgery yet and he's on yearly visits to the cardiologist and he sees a paed every few months for growth etc.

I read that murmurs are common in children and mist of the time there's nothing wrong. I had a murmur that fixes itself.
