I can only imagine it is completely humiliating and probably the lowest point in your life when this happens. To rub salt into the wound there's now a bunch of other mothers forming a queue to further condemn her.
Bec I don't have a problem with any of this but she is a celebrity (or a personality) and it goes with the territory. No one phone tapped her, or took her photo through a wide angle lens.

I'm sorry but the moment people invite the media into their world and want all the fame and recognition, and money, well they have to learn to take it on the chin when their less than perfect moments are broadcast to the world. Or learn to be better at hiding them.

I am so sick of personalities and celebrities showing us photos of their kids in women's weekly, or sharing their diet tips, and boring us with the minutiae of their lives and then crying when they get publicity they don't like.

Default 'I knew it was wrong': Chrissie Swan admits to smoking while pregnant

Please, to the people who say that its "Nothing to give things up for your unborn child" it doesnt help and it makes the people who are struggling so hard feel even worse. What they (i needed) is encouragement and not to be reminded.about how horrible they are treating their unborn child. I can guarantee you, they do not need any further guilt.
I really get where you are coming from. But it's not my job to make smoking mothers feels better. I know that sounds really harsh, and it is harsh. It's really not targeted to anyone and not everyone feels that guilty. I know quite a few people who smoke and brush off any side effects on the child.

The fact that there are so many people still smoking while pregnant maybe means that education and quit programs are not working as well as they should be.

Some women have to go through extremely hard, painful and stressful things to even have a baby in the first place. While its not easy, it can be done.

A big fat nothing! Both sides are just voicing their opinions because this is a platform to voice opinions. Neither side is going to save the world
I was genuinely asking... what was it she was hoping this thread to achieve? Because what I've seen her do so far is to grab hold of bits and pieces that people have said and proceed to argue them to the nth degree. Things like posting repeatedly about "unexpected pregnancies", quite off topic and looking rather like someone looking to pick a fight, any fight.

But if what she really wants to do is criticise Chrissie Swan for her choices, then I'd be interested in discussing that with her. Because to me that's at the root of this, whether it's acceptable or appropriate for the media, or even we Hubbers, to entertain ourselves with the discussion of other people's choices.

Are you serious? People can say things and I'm not allowed to respond or give my opinion on the matter? You've been quoting my every post, so you obviously want to debate with me, that goes for anyone, don't start a debate then blame me when it doesn't go your way

PS no one put a gun to someone's head to make them smoke their first cigarette or to continue to the point of addiction, smokers make a conscious decision to start, if you get addicted, you can't blame anyone but yourself! Sorry.[/QUOTE]

No - but many of us were teenagers when we started, without possession of 'rationally thinking adult' brains and hooked by adulthood. But that's another conversation.

I do get this to a certain extent. The question is where should the line be drawn? Is every private moment or bodily function ok to be snapped by the paparazzi and published because it's a celebrity? I believe she was sitting in her car when the incident happened.

For what it's worth I do not read magazines but especially those with pages of paparazzi trash or 'celebrity news' *vomit*.

Don't flatter yourself. I've quoted you whenever I found something you wrote objectionable; if that has been many times then that only shows I find much of what you write to be so.

And you didn't bother to answer my question about what your actual point is, presumably because there *is* no point.

Yet you accuse ME of looking for arguments and debating something to death when youre the one quoting and objecting to everything I say. And now you ask my point.
It's a tad hypocritical dont you think?
Perhaps if you don't want to go back and forth STOP quoting me and asking my POV or what I now think of Chrissy.
Make your own point for goodness sakes and stop trying to belittle me. Also speak directly to me, not to VicPark if you have a problem.

Yesterday you were complaining about people being passive aggressive, I was just trying to do what you asked. Telling you exactly what I felt, no passive aggressive about it
