    Default Irregular periods and ovulation

I have been TTC for 13 months and have only been tracking with a OPK for 2 months.

I have very irregular periods as I have only had it twice in the 13 months.

I have O'd once and I'm wondering what everyone else's ovulation cycles are like if you have irregular periods.

If you are having infrequent periods I would suggest getting it checked out. Even though you may ovulate at some stage in one of your very long cycles, the egg quality may not be great or your hormone levels may not be right to support implantation and/or early pregnancy. A few blood tests may be able to help determine what is going on.

In agree, definitely see a doctor and they can work out what's happening. If its PCOS you might need metformin and/or clomid to conceive (I took both and had success).

I agree with the above. Definately go chat with your GP. Irregular and infrequent periods is the biggest sign of PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. There are many other signs which your GP can check off with you and a blood test will confirm. I was the same and could go nearly 12 mths without a cycle. Only your hormones will tell what's going on 😊. Good luck!!!

I've had all the blood tests and I don't have pcos. I'm currently seeing a FS and she want me to do the HSG X-ray but I'm still waiting for my period but we were also talking about putting me on Clomid. Does anyone know how much the tablets cost?

Thanks for your advice guys. I just keep getting told from my GP's that I'm not regular because if coming off the pill although its been 13 months now

Have you had a scan of your ovaries? That's how I found out I have PCO. Clomid costs

Have you had a scan of your ovaries? That's how I found out I have PCO.

Clomid costs approx $40 for 10 x 50mg tablets if you're having irregular periods you'll most likely have to take provera (or equiv) to induce a bleed which is $20 for 30 x 10mg. I took 10mg of provera for 10days (bleed started day 9 first time & second time the day after i stopped-so day 11) then 5 days of clomid staring on day 3 of my cycle.

I started on 50mgs of clomid but didn't ovulate, now on 100mg and have my blood test to see if it worked tomorrow but with DHs sperm count low we have been advised to do IVF.

Has your DP/DF/DH been tested? 50% of infertility is from men so may be worth checking!

    Good luck

    X
