    Default which contraceptive pill are you on?

    Bit stuck with which contraceptive pill to go on.

    what's the difference between a progesterone pill and one with combined progesterone and estrogen (sp?)..?

    I take Loette. I believe it's a 'low dose' pill.

    I haven't found it has any crazy side effects or anything, so it's pretty easy on the body.

    I have to be rigid about taking it the same time every day though, otherwise I can get breakthrough bleeding that lasts a couple of weeks. Not cool!

    Yaz flex u put pills into dispensor and it has a timer the reminds u every day and u choose wen u eant to have ur period i have one every 2 or 3 months as i have light flow or u can have one every 25 days a side a affect is thats its a diretic i have lost a kilo of fluid since taking it love this pill

    Levelin, apart from TTC and bf'ing I've been on it since I was 16. Never had any side affects, have fallen pregnant x 3 times within 2 months of coming off it.

    FYI - read this news story the other day regarding the safety of the Diane contraceptive pill:

    I was on it for a number of years from my late teens to treat hormonal acne - worked a treat, but glad I'm not on it anymore (even though I think banning it because of four deaths over 25yrs does seem a little excessive - I'm sure there are many other medications on the market that are worse).
