You will be suprised how much tax she pays compared to her earnings. And um, have you heard of the mining tax? Cause she wasn't paying tax for that which is where all her money comes from. Abbott will be sure to abolish that too and make sure he's looking after his mates like her.

Apparently she pays a tiny amount of tax in comparison to what she earns.

For us oldies here, we would remember Alan Bond. He once bragged in the 80's he paid less tax than a middle class family.

Default Abbott to axe school bonus if he gets in

    Exactly.
There are so many tax cuts and benefits for the 'average working family', I can't even keep track.
Ftb A, B, school kid bonus, bonus for after school sports. Have I missed anything? Then I assume there is more if you are unemployed.

Not saying they shouldn't exist, but surely losing a benefit of a few hundred bucks a year isn't going to break the bank?

If you are genuinely struggling or unemployed I thought you went in some sort if school card anyway, so school fees are minimal?

Children are the future of any nation. Said nation has every interest to support these children in their health and education.
They are future tax payers and wealth creators. :-)

Sure thing. I bet she still pays millions in tax. And you can bet the gov and tax office watch her like a hawk for any tax evasion.

One thing of like to point out, whilst wealthy people usually work their a$$e off to get their higher pay (higher up roles, more stress, longer hours, more responsibilities ect) they actually barely receive any incentives from the government and get their pay taxed HALF. So in the end they actually don't end up with a huge amount in their pocket.

It would probably cost about $400 per child. Which is a lot for struggling families.

I recall when the BB was knocked back $400 and some said it would hurt them. Some of the high income earners ripped them apart saying they shouldn't be having kids if $400 would make that much difference. The about a week later the same people were complaining about losing some of the PHI rebate bc they earnt over 140k lol

So it seems the poor aren't allowed to complain, ask for or receive anything bc they should be doing it on their own. But the rich on big money complain they have to pay more for PHI. A bit hypocritical.
