Default Best plants for small garden bed in full sun?

We have just concreted our front yard, but have left the small garden bed on the side. It measures approximately 30cm x 5m. We are looking at planting some very low maintenance plants that won't grow too tall in full sun.

So far, my mum has suggested agapanthus! Anyone have other suggestions?

I'm a big fan of edible gardens so i would do herbs and maybe some cherry tomatoes or a dwarf fruit tree?

    I've found succulents work well
