Default Did you know you can claim up to $150 per child, to do a recreational sport??

Yesterday my SIL emailed me and told me about this awesome grant for heath care or pension card holders, for any children old enough to play a sport outside of school you can apply for a voucher to cover sign up fees its called the Get Started program, it might just be for QLD tho anyways, This year we have 3 boys signing up for rugby league, and last year it cost us a small fortune to put them in, but going down today all our fees were covered with this voucher. I'm soo chuffed! We have been saving for sign on since before xmas! Anyways i thought i'd share cause its such a good program helping kids get into sport!

What an awesome idea I have been saying the government needs to help get kids more active to beat the obesity problem, but sometimes paying for a child to play sports can brake the bank especially if you have more than one child

pretty sure it covers just about any sport, and if your club hasnt registered for the program yet just mention it to them im sure they'll get on board!

ETA:Mods can I post the link to the website?

Me too, but not just kids. It annoys me how they talk about taxing junk food, because that won't make people eat it less, it will just make people poorer. It makes also much more sense to give you a bonus for doing something good, as opposed to a penalty for doing something bad.

    thats annoying!

I like how its in a voucher form and the club has to claim it! Much better than a cash payment IMO i know way too many who would claim but not put it towards the kids! It really is a brilliant idea!
