    Default Gumtree

Hi, just after some advice, i am trying to sell a snake tank on gumtree for alot of money (its value). I have had an email from someone who wants to but it but is "away" and wants to pay me via paypal and have it collected. I offered to keep it for him until he returned but he said he wanted to have it picked up before he returns. I asked for his phone number and he told me he is hearing impaired.... He does not want to see it first, and it has me a little concerned....

It sounds very much like a scammer. I wouldn't trust it and would find a way to report it.

Yes sounds like a scam I'd stay far away from that one! If he really wants it he'd have no problem waiting. This is not the first time I've heard of this happening via gumtree.

Although, does he mean he wants to pay you first and then have it collected? Because surely that would be ok? Or is he saying he wants to collect it then pay you?

If he's paying first I don't see how that's a scam?? Especially via PayPal?

There's heaps of scammers on gumtree! My DH had a few different ones, they say they're working away etc, don't even try and haggle the price. Just put cash on pick up only.
