Default Fluid inside baby & enlarged liver?? :(

    I had a ultrasound today at 18w 5d.
Ultrasound picked up fluid all around the babys belly, and an enlarged liver.
Has anyone's baby had this? I am thinking the worst.

    So sad.

Not yet. The guy who did the scan told me & also told me he is normally not allowed to but wanted me to know. I am waiting for my ob to get the results and contact me, hopefully this afternoon. I don't want to have to wait all weekend.

Default Fluid inside baby & enlarged liver?? :(

My baby had a pocket of fluid at the back of his neck and head. He did turn out to have something but he reabsorbed the fluid by his next scan two weeks later so it may be nothing to panic over. Xo

Nawww sending you loads of hugs

I've seen quite a few threads on here with concerned mothers and enlarged baby livers which have turned out to be fine. They will probably just monitor the problem but most of the time it clears up by the time baby is born.

I'm hoping for the best case scenario for you

I can't sleep I have been researching for over 15 hours now. My eyes look freaky from crying, I have burst the blood vessels. I don't know how to be strong right now. After researching, I have found out about something called CMV. A virus that if contracted when pregnant causes problems with the unborn baby. What my baby girl has are symptoms of the virus. I can only hope I am wrong, but after everything I have read, if baby does survive she will be limited in life unless a miracle happens. My heart is broken.

I'm sorry you got this news, but please be kind to yourself and your baby and get some sleep and get off google. Call your Ob as soon as possible, he may be able to read your results to you over the phone to stop you worrying. CMV is extremely rare.

Oh darling. Stop googling I know it's hard but you will have yourself exhausted over what could very much be nothing.

Call your ob get his opinion and then ask about testing if you are still scared. Xox
