It's not quite as adorable as cute clothes and socks but practical items like soaps, shampoos, creams, nappies, wipes etc are really really excellent gifts! It always helps if you know their preference for disposable or cloth but these were always my fav gifts. All that stuff is expensive and really comes in handy.
Also I love the dinners in foil trays idea! That's perfect!
Baby nail scissors
Thanks ladies will go shopping today & see what I come up with. Thanks for all the great ideas.
I didn't have a baby shower, but received plenty of gifts upon the birth of my son.
I loved getting wraps, as I had no idea how many I would actually need and hadn't bought nearly enough. I also loved the basket of goodies I received which had all sorts of items in it (many suggested above).
I also really appreciated the gifts that were for older baby or toddler that I stored ready for later use (such as size 2 underwear and larger clothing).
Australian breastfeeding association membership (if you know they're keen to breastfeed)
My favourite gifts were:
100 baby purées cook book
Itzbeen timer (fabulous for keeping track of feeds and sleep etc in the early months)
Hairy McClary book (or any picture book to be read to bub later on)
Singlets in size 1
I was given enough wraps for a tribe of kids. Most never got used in the end but to cover the pram as I used love to swaddle sleep wraps.
