I loved all my Muslin swaddling wraps, so I am making up a "peapod" for my sis. A green muslin wrap with three outfits (peas) tied at the ends with ribbon.

A magazine gift voucher if she reads that kind of thing -not too expensive but will last a whole year and gives her something to look forward to once a week or month. Great while sitting breast feeding or feet on the couch for 'me' time.

Best gift I got was a subscription to a parenting magazine.
Is she using cloth nappies? A cloth nappy (cool fancy one) would be different.
I liked all the containers to store baby food, soppy cups, plates/spoons, stuff for when baby was older rather newborn stuff.
Do they like sport? Official baby merchandise is cute and different of their favourite team (and one for the dad)

I loved receiving meals for my freezer in aluminum trays so no need to wash and remember to give them back.
I also loved getting a pedi voucher as my poor feet were very tired towards the end
I would have also loved the newborn photo shoot- awesome idea
