Question Mini pill, missed pills and sex? HELP

Sorry guys, probably a bit of a "too much info" thread !

Yesterday morning I went to take my mini pill (I'm BF my 18 month old) but realised I had run out. I knew later that I had to go to town for something but couldn't for the life of me remember what for and our car was in for a service and living 20 mins out of town it wouldn't have been easy anyway.

Anyway last night we had sex and this morning went to take my pill then remembered I was out . So now I am over 24 hours late for my pill (over 48 hours since the last was taken- probably closer to 60 hours now as I've not long got home)

My last period was 13-17th so pretty much 2 weeks ago making it pretty close to mid cycle and around prime ovulation time.

Being married, hubby and I are not too fussed but have always been unsure if we wanted 2 or 3 kids but decided after getting a pidgeon pair that we were done. However we have also agreed that if another one came in the form of a whoopsie it wouldn't be the end of the world but we would look at more permanent contraception methods if this happened (probably tubal ligation) as 4 would be just too many for us.

So what is the likelyhood of getting pregnant? Should I inform hubby yet or wait to see if I get my period in a couple of weeks? Should I go back on the pill or being so long should I stay off them until pregnancy can be ruled out?

1st baby I came off the combined pill after 9 years and conceived 2nd month, daughter came off the minipill and conceived after my first period (3 days post no pills) so I am obviously a fertile lady at 29 years old.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Pill is microlut which is a 3hr safety net (no more than 27 hours between pills)

I think you should talk to your hubby and consider the morning after pill (can be used up to 120hrs more effective withing 72hrs) if you want.

Emergency contraception would be my reccomendation! Most effective in first 24 hours and can be used up to 72 hours after. Talk to dh and decide your best plan of action. A more reliable option would be the copper iud as you are mid cycle. That's what they reccomended for me as I had an oopsie moment mid cycle.

Thanks guys, as mentioned above I doubt it would be an issue anyway. Not a month ago I was really nauseous and had cramping which is how I knew I was pregnant with my 2 munchkins but turned out it was just my body's way of punishing me for my first period in over 2 years.

Told hubby then that I thought I might be pregnant and he just shrugged his shoulders and said "So, would it really matter if you were".

I am not sure about implants as they send me completely off my head! Tried a mirena and ended up crying non stop except to get really cross and *****y so not willing to try anything like that again! It is seriously the 1st time I've missed a pill EVER except when we were actually TTC and I've been on the minipill for 14 months with my son and now 17 months with my daughter plus combined pill for 9 months

Default Mini pill, missed pills and sex? HELP

I think your chances of being pregnant are high. I don't think you can take morning after pill breastfeeding. If you aren't worried about having another baby, wait and see and then next month be a bit more careful I would not even trust the mini pill, so many people I know have got pregnant on it.

Wouldn't be an issue- not exactly in a bad way even though I'm a stay at home mum so we are living off one income. Would just mean a bit of an adjustment (probably more for my booby addicted daughter). If we had have had 2 girls or 2 boys our plan would have been for a 3rd anyway so wouldn't be too worried. In saying that if I don't get pregnant I wouldn't be upset either. Happy to accept it either way. And the way hubby has mentioned it in the past I doubt he would care either, it has come up more than once in topic.

Issue is though do i take the pills again or wait? Presuming wait until next period to resume taking them just in case???
