    Default Pre Conception Vitamins

I'm just wondering what vitamins you all took or are currently taking when ttc? Is iodine/folic acid enough on its own?

    Default Pre Conception Vitamins

I took/still take Elevit. It's the smallest tablet, is only taken once a day and doesn't have too gross an after taste. I've recently stopped breastfeeding and am still taking it now.

I take Swisse pregnancy tablets.. Although after seeing my doctor yesterday she has said we only really need to take follic acid tablets so will be changing to those only once my Swisse ones are finished. Much cheaper too!

    Default Pre Conception Vitamins

My diet is pretty good, could be improved slightly but mostly good. I was told by my GP that iodine/folic is all that's needed but I keep seeing alot of other pre conception vitamins. Blackmores conceive well gold is another one I was looking at, does anyone take that? I was thinking about elevit, it's just so expensive tho..

My friend just gave me the rest of her bottle of Blackmores Pregnancy and Breastfeeding - says to start taking 1 month before TTC then keep taking it through to breastfeeding.

    With DD1 I took Elevit.

I just took the folic acid with iron. If your diet is good you don't need anything else but it's up to you if you do want to have the extra vitamins

Ive done this with 2 pregnancies. The iron is good as I have trouble eating red meat while pg.
However, it van make you constipated :S

Same as LolaKitty. I eat pretty well so my GP told me to just take Folic Acid with Iodine. Blackmore's sells this and I get it pretty cheap at Chemist Warehouse. I do also take Zinc and Fish Oil because I don't eat fish (as recommended by my GP) and a multi-vitamin doesn't have enough in it but I've been taking that for awhile. HTH!
