I agree with the others who've said not to worry.

DD is 31mths and only has water or milk. She's never asked for juice, or even noticed what other kids have. Sometimes she's asked for a sip of my drink, if I'm having a lemonade or a sparkly blood orange water - and has then pulled a face and not gone anywhere near it again. Now if she asks what I'm drinking I offer her some, and she always says "No thank you, Mummy. It's very very yucky" - without trying it!

My son is almost 4.5, and we have always just given him water and said that other drinks are for grown ups. He's a pretty defiant kid, but has generally accepted that.

I wouldn't worry about it. If you just tell him he drinks water and that's it, it probably won't be an issue, and it'll take him a long time to notice anyway given his age.
