    Default I'm pregnant! What now?

    Hi everyone,
so I have just had my first scan at 6 weeks and 6 days and I'm finally ready to think this second pregnancy is actually real! Ever since my dd's birth I have been planning for a vbac, although I am not yet set on whether I want a homebirth or a public hospital birth. Either way, I will be hiring a private midwife. So...where do I start? I have just had my scan with my ivf dr and last pregnancy I just went straight to an ob. If I am hiring a midwife do I contact a dr (I don't have a regular one as we just moved) and book in to a hospital until i choose a midwife? Any suggestions (if you are allowed) - I am in Melbourne (North/East). Mercy hospital is the closest. Although I ideally want a water birth so I'm thinking it will be at home for me (stupid high risk label!).

Thanks Hokey Pokey! I might end up getting a doula as well. I spoke to a midwife today and I'm thinking I'll go the home birth option. Feeling less panicky about deciding so quickly...it's not the same as choosing an ob and them being all booked up by the time you're 6 weeks!!

Thanks FM, I'm a homebirther/freebirther myself so I thought I would reach a hand out I'm not in your state but if you have any questions feel free to ask. Have you seen the homebirth section? There are a few of us on BH
