Default Help - what car seat do you have?

    Hello lovely ladies.
My 5 month old ds is getting too big for his capsule and I need to buy a car seat.
The problem is I have no idea what to look for. Or what brand. They all look the same to me lol.
Can anyone please recommend me one?
    Thanks! X

I have a Hipod Senator for DS2 (he is 20mths, but only 10kg). If you look at the CREP results, (google) that might help you decide

Have you looked at the CREP website? It shows safety ratings of car seats.

I went off this and bought the Meridian tilt and adjust. It's a convertible car seat so does rearward and forward facing. It's one of the more expensive seats though so depends on your budget.

Hi OP - I just got a 2012 safe n sound Compaq for my nearly 6 month old DS. He absolutely loves it. It fits well in my small car and is fairly easy to adjust. Plus he can rear face in the seat for a decent amount of time.

Check out the CREP testing results before you buy a seat

I have the Safe n Sound Meridian, love it! We still use it rear facing and my son is 15 months (he is a shorty so hasn't reached the height marker yet). Easy to install and adjust when needed. It is suitable from birth to 4 years.

Another lover if the meridian. My ds got one in may last year, at 14mnths, so great for extended rear facing...he was only just at the line that says to turn him to forward facing. He us above average height too. (about 70th %) He still has a heap of room to grow too!

Safe and sound will also replace your seat if in an accident too baby bunting have them on sale atm.

Please avoid mothers choice/safety first seats, they are small, my ds has out grown them already.

Another good seat thats economical is the hipod milan/cairo....when we got ours for my ds 20 months ago they rated well (though not"best") on crep. We replaced it with a meridian after a car accident.

We have this seat as well - two of them actually, one in each car!

I had a small hatchback when DS was little, so I got the Compaq due to having limited space. We used a hired capsule in DH's car for a while, then when we returned it we bought another Compaq to replace it with.
