Default Using Cloth when out and about?

    Hi all,

I have been reading through all the old posts on cloth but haven't been able to find an answer to my query.

I plan to use Pea Pods when my baby is born next May, but I'm wondering how this works when we are out and about either in public or at other people's houses?

Do you use disposables in these situations? Or is it acceptable to wash the poo down the toilet at someone else's house and put it in a nappy bag to take home to wash?

I'd like to avoid using disposables if possible, but I'm not sure how this works so ... Calling all experts!

    Thanks for your help!

I've just started using my BBs out and about, and I never gave the poo a second thought, Hmm. Haven't had to deal with poo yet outside the house in cloth!
I use a wet bag that has 2 sides to it so my plan I guess would be just to chuck it in the bag in the dirty side, zip it up and wash it when I get home just as I would if I was at home-instead it'd go in a bucket. This would only be alright for a day trip though- not sure it'd be nice to open after being away for a few days!!

If we have a pooe'y nappy when out and about I fold the nappy up really tightly and wash it out when I get home!

I do whatever suits at the time. Generally the poo gets wrapped up in the nappy and popped in a wet bag til I am home, but if I can, I try to get some of the poo off into the toilet and flush it.

You can also get biodegradable liners:

    or:

which are great if you are expecting a poo and makes flushing it super super easy! Fabulous for travelling.

I find that my MCN are so much more reliable then disposables when out and about- I put it in a plastic bag (pooey or not) and bring it home if I need to do a change while out (quite rare). I'd do the same when visiting a friend, I don't think I'd flush any poo away... I would worry about stinking out their home.

However, at the end of the month I am travelling to my parent's place and staying for 2 nights- I'll take disposables for both kids. But I'll probably take my MCN to show them off!

I have always used disposables when we go to stay overnight somewhere, but after last weekend this will change, thanks to a leaky pooey Huggies, all up his back and over his pyjamas.

So now it will be a non-leaking Greens Anytime and we will take the poo home with us LOL, since we did anyway, all over his clothes.
