Default fever + vomit. asap advice please?

My ds is 16 months, he has been feverish, tired and whingy all arvo. at first i thought maybe it was just the heat. cooled him down with water and kept him hydrated. he seemed okay, temp came back up and after a cool bath, i gave him paracetemol at 7.30pm his temp went down. at 9.3opm it started to rise again, he fell asleep and i tried to keep him cool.
1am he woke very hot and upset. i gave given more paracetemol, he won't drink anything, has vomited and is very upset. his fever has gone down a little but he is still warm and very lethargic. His eyes are red and glassy.
i thought he may just be teething but now im not sure.
    what should i do?
advice would be helpful. thank you in advance!

Ring the nurse on call and they can help decide if you need to go to Ed. It's so distressing when they vomit and are unwell.

Oh poor bubba. I agree, nurse on call are good for advice. Have you tried neurofen? I find that DD's fevers respond much better to neurofen than parecetemol. It's the first thing the ER gave her last time we went there (on adobe from nurse on call) - she perked up considerably.

Probably just a bug. I would just ride it out for 24hrs and not bother with the Dr until it goes any longer.

Just keep his fluids up and keep him cool with wet washer, fan, bath etc. Panadol, Nerofen etc will just upset his tummy and make him vomit more.

He is probably lethargic and eyes are glassy from the temp. Or the fact it was 1am in the morning.

All the best it is horrible when they are sick.

Sounds like gastro to me...the vomiting, fever and lethargy. DS1 got it few times similar to your description. Tummy ache? Hydralyte and Panadol be good.
