Question Mucus plug? *WARNING* GRAPHIC IMAGE - TMI!

    Hey ladies,

So I swore I wouldn't post one of these mucus plug pictures, but now that it's come to it I really need another opinion!

This is my first baby so I am totally clueless. I am 5 days overdue in the morning, and praying for labor to happen, I will be induced in 6 days if it doesn't.

My partner and I DTD about an hour or so ago and as instructed by my midwife I stayed laying down to let his stuff soften my cervix as I had a stretch and sweep done yesterday. When I got up to go to the toilet and wiped, this was on the TP.

It was VERY stretchy, gooey, almost glue like with a yellow / green tinge to it and looked like I had blown a big booger onto the paper haha :P But I am wondering is there a chance it could be my partners stuff that has just gone funny from being in there for like an hour or would you say this is defintiely my mucus plug. If so do you think Labor is imminent? How long after losing your plug did you go into labor? *fingers crossed* praying for a miracle right now!

SORRY! Here is the link to the pic, I did warn you, so please no rude comments about it, if you don't want to see PLEASE DONT LOOK HAHA:

Thanks in advance and sorry again

Didnt look sorry, but if mine was like a glob of green snot. I lost it over a few days. You can lose your plug a few weeks to a few hours before. Seeing as though youre overdue id say within the next few days.

It does seem like it but you can have this happen and then not go into labor. My sil lost some and then no action! For me though, it meant labour was coming and happened with two of mine within 12 hours. So tmi but mine was as you say and felt kind of 'thick' and firm kind of. Hard to describe. I had a shower and more came away after walking around and doing stuff. Exciting! I love this stage

looks like the consistency of the mucus plug. I had a stretch and sweep w my second child and the following day I had similar mucus to your photo plus streaks of blood. I went into labour that evening... full contractions by midnight and had dd 4hrs later..
v good sign. I am sure labour will come naturally after s&s. definitely worked a treat for me

Default Mucus plug? *WARNING* GRAPHIC IMAGE - TMI!

It definitely looks a bit like mine did after I had a stretch and sweep, but I had blood also. I had s&s on the Tuesday afternoon, lost plug that night, didn't go into labour until 7.30 Thursday night and DD was born 5 hours later.

It doesn't mean labour is imminent (Sorry!). Maybe try a long walk now? Things we definitely happening for you.

Definitely looks similar to what I found when I started losing my plug. Can't help you with whether labour is imminent or not..I started losing mine at 37 weeks with no signs of labour. I had a c section at 38+6 (was booked in due to placenta pravia) and did not lose any more of my plug prior to this.

Honestly? I'm dying to look but i can't quite bring myself to click that link ha ha!!!

A big lump of snot sounds about right tho. I lost my plug with DD1 about 24 hours before my waters broke (which ended in induction because they were green)

Good luck, I hope it happens soon for you!

Yeah mine was quite firm and thick as well, I was having trouble trying to describe it myself haha.

Well I am hoping it happens soon, I've had NO contractions, aches or pains up until this point, so hanging out for a sign, I've been trying to keep as active as possible and am going to do some more cleaning, walking and bouncing on my yoga ball tonight so hopefully that helps!

    Thanks everyone for the replies!

Well seems like it must be my plug, it's a shame it's not a clear indication of labor but at least it's something finally! I'm getting another S&S tomorrow, but here's hoping I end up in labor by morning (somehow I don't think so though, he's a stubborn little boy) :P

Really don't want to be induced, and my mother has come up for the birth but only has till sunday off and my partner only has a short time off too, so would really like it to happen by this weekend

Thanks for all your help, I was really confused but feeling pretty confident it must be it now.

i clicked before I gave myself the chance to think first . I couldn't not!

how exciting!! it looks like how my mucus plug looked when it started to come away. Very snotty. And then it became blood streaked and just kept coming! When I lost mine labour started within a couple of days...good luck I hope you're holding your baby soon!
