Yes ironic. But we can't have it both ways. Either a baby is valued before its born (dies via tragedy) or it isn't (dies via choice).
I have nothing but contempt for the Catholic Church and this is just another example of their gross hypocrisy.
But...they say from conception!?! Is that only when things go perfectly? But if they *beep* up then 'oh no. The law clearly states live birth'
You can't have it both ways!!! They and the ob need to accept they *beep* up in a HUGE way.
That poor woman. And her poor husband and little daughter

As a practicing Catholic I am extremely disappointed in this hospital's stance.
Sadly, their opinion reflects that of main****** society, not that of the Catholic Church which clearly states that life begins at conception (NOT at implantation, x number of weeks gestation or birth).
This particular hospital has had a real opportunity to stand out as a supporter of church doctrine and they have missed their opportunity to do so.
Devils advocate here- the defense lawyers just used the current state laws "wrongful death act encompasses only individuals born alive". They didn't make up anything or change legislation.
Yes it's contrary to the ethos of the company. But there is no law saying you had to stick to your ethos/morals. It's not illegal to be immoral.
