I always thought the opposite - that when people were saying macaron they really meant macaroon!

And then I found out there were two. Dangerous!

But this one leaves me with a horrid dilemma. I know that it should be Mow-ett, but also that most people think it's Mow-ay or (worse) Mow-ee, so I worry that if I say it correctly then everyone else will think I'm an idiot!

So I just avoid ever saying it...
Sorry for being pedantic but Moet should actually be pronounced Mo-ett (no w).

Since we are talking french alcohol, in Sauvignon Blanc the c is silent. So it reads sauvignon blan

What I've read says it should be more "Mw-ett" than "Mo-ett" (one syllable).

    Let me go find

Watching MKR and I'm not dealing with the mispronunciation of salsa.

    Sal-suh
    Sul-suh.

    Surely it's the latter? SAL-sa sounds so.....ugh.

I probably don't know how to write down the pronunciation, it's Mo as in Bro then Ett.
That's the proper French pronunciation, but then it might have been anglicized

ETA I'll ask my friend who works there - lucky duck is having champagne every week!!
