I get irked by one that is probably said wrong by me but the other way of saying it bugs me!

I say appre-she-ate and cannot stand when I hear appre-sea-ate. Its normally on movies that I hear it the wrong-but-probably-right way and it bugs me every time.

N-y-ew NOT n-ew! DH says it wrong and I can't help but correct him in my head every time! Cringe....
A friend of mine says this, annoys me so much.
My pet hate is 'seen' instead of 'saw'!

One of our school captains would say 'appreciton" instead of appreciAtion. Ahhh! He also said negoseeate. Nightmare!

MIL over pronounces Rrrr sounds in most words and claims to love the English language - well stop butchering it then!

SD says "whix bits" for weet-bix. Along with everything else in this thread. It's very painful listening to her.

    Lugury - luxury.

Lastly, I really hate people being lazy with names like Amelia. It's A-Meal-Lee-A. Not A-Mil-Ya.

Actually any "ya" words. Or Satdee instead of Saturday. Yes I'm talking to you Mr Mechanic! *deep breath*

Just agreeing with a couple of others here:
    Supposebly instead of supposedly
    Haich instead of aich
    Everythink, nothink, somethink (arghhhh!!!)

    But also
UNGyen instead of UNyen (for Onion)
And fry-pan instead of Frying-pan (but I am aware that's personal preference haha.

My husband says that things are 'slippy' instead of 'slippery' I just thought it was kind of cute/funny but now I find myself saying it too... Argh!!!

I'm a real stickler for grammar and pronunciation (I lecture in language and phonetics at uni!) so I've got a thousand I could put on this list...but some of the ones so far are really harsh!
Like shedule v skedule... both are acceptable dialect variations, neither is incorrect. You can't say it drives you mad that someone has an accent or is from another place!
