Default BEWARE of fraudulent buyers - I nearly lost alot of money today

Someone tried to do this to my Mum when she was selling her motorbike on Gumtree, they were willing to pay more and a stupid amount for transport to wherever they were, when Mum told me I just said who would pay more than what it's worth, it wasn't brand new, needed work and had a few scratches so I just knew it wasn't right. Lucky I was there because she almost fell for it!
I don't trust anyone online until I see the money in my account!!

    Lucky you escaped the scam!

I have heard of this one and many more so I have a general rule when selling anything and that is, no liaising about price, delivery etc via email. I always tell them that if they want to negotiate, to come and see me. I know that having someone to offer to pay full price or even double sounds great and easy and hassle free but as they say, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Western Union also rings major alarm bells for me as well as asking me for money when I'm the one selling something! If you're selling, then you don't need to pay anyone a singel red cent!

Paying double, that would have rang alarm bells for sure.
