Went to the GP today for a general chat. Just the usual - no smoking or drinking, health diet and some light exercise and no stress LOL

    Also got the flu shot

Was given a ref to see a psychologist to talk about birthing anxiety and am booked in for 20 March.
I will be ref to the hosp when I fall and be ref for Obs care so I will be closely monitored. I wont be able to go over with this bubs so will be monitored for induction.

All in all im happy with it and excited for the next step!

Hi WobblerMummy - thanks for your ideas. I've planned about $3k for baby related items (pram, cot, clothes etc) and about $4k for hospital expenses (could not believe an obsterician costs this much and am definitely re-thinking if we need to go private).

Is anyone else planning for a parent to stay-at-home full time? I'm just wondering how you can budget and plan for that. Thanks!

I'm definitely looking at private hospitals the only time I want to access the public hospital is if something goes wrong with me or bub and then I want to be where all of the drs can be immediately not a phone call away. DF and I discussed getting some things second hand like one of the ladies at work such as pram, car capsule and big things cause I have been pricing them online recently and alot of people sell off the prams that go with car capsules in 1 go and they are less then 6 months old for a good price. Most cost more then $800 brand new and can be bought at half price in good condition.

Sadly I wont get to be a SAHM always wanted to but the house we are building that DF fell in love with is a mini fortune to pay for so wont be able to take too much time away from work, not really happy about that but have to work so we can eat and live. Will of course have to see how things go when have had a baby maybe just go back 2-3 days a week after first, go back and do the next yr at work so entitled to PPL again lol so that means they will be about 2 1/2-3 years apart in age.

No its not very long away and I just can't wait for both wedding and baby. Even wrote that in Valentines card for DF and he was confused. you + me = 3 he just said you can't count that never makes sense. Again tried to make easier you + me = lol.

Babydust to all TTC in the next few weeks and months, look forward to being kept up to date.

Hi everyone!! Been reading along and keeping up with everyone!
Got my blood results back today, everything looks good. Somehow, despite having the vaccination in thee past, I have no Hep B immunity so getting that done again but nothing there that prevents TTC and I still have a few months before we actively try to get it all sorted. Something odd came up with my kidney function though so getting repeat bloods I'm a few weeks to see if that settles or not. Hopefully its nothing bad The Dr didn't seem too concerned at this stage

I haven't even put thought into costs of babies, you ladies are prepared! I do know I won't be a SAHM as we just couldn't afford it unfortunately. Ideally I'd love to be in a position where DH and I could both be part time!maybe one day lol

Great to hear Lilac, other tests come back ok too. Atleast it is a few months in the future. I am working on putting down some costs now with my secret stash of clothes lol in the cupboard with wedding accessories. lets hope can sell these things after wedding and have more room to put baby things, don't need it all on display when friends or family come my sister would already think i was slightly crazy by buying so many things now but I just can't help I see baby clothes and go completely gaga lol

As this is baby #2 for us we won’t have to buy much however are hoping for a boy so will have LOTS of girls clothes to sell! Our garage is full of DD’s clothes she has outgrown – maybe I can on sell to some of you lovely ladies!!

With DD we had a pram and carseat from Target (both around $200 each) and there was absolutely nothing wrong with them! No need to spend a small fortune. I think Target usually have their big baby sale around July so keep your eyes open!
This time I do want to get a new pram though one with the baby seat capsule – just figure it will be easier as I will have the 3 year old in tow! I wont be getting double pram though as DD doesn’t really use her stroller as it is.
So – I may even have my pram to sell that is in perfect condition!

Thanks May85 and Lilac07 and Wobblermummy - I'm planning for my husband to stay home with our kids (his choice) so we have to account for the loss of the larger income which is hard but I think totally do-able. We already own our house and after updating the bathroom this year we shouldn't have to do anything else to it for a while (not like Wobblemummy building her dream home - which is so cool).

However, I find it really hard to justify not buying the best pram / cot etc for my future kids as I have spent so much on myself in the past (specifically last year when we had the wedding and honeymoon) it seems mean of me to skimp on their stuff! Anyone else suffer from this?

Also, I am thinking of maybe going public to save $4,000+ but my family are very "private is best" and I am worried they will try to convince me otherwise - from what I've read public is almost as good as private, just maybe without the trimmings (i.e. private room etc). Any thoughts?
