Default Karicare De-Lact on script. MPI.

Does anyone know if you can get Karicare De-Lact on script for milk protein intollerance? Or is it only given for lactose intollerance?

I'm pretty sure it's not a script one (like Neocate or Pepti Junior) but best to check with a GP. It it might be on some sort of Medicare list - the PBS one? I think Pepti was on that list anyway.

Karicare delact you can buy from the chemist no script and it's really cheap. It is a great formula for bub's with low tolerance to milk protein. It still contains some milk protein as it is still based on cows milk, but is definitely more easily digested. Both my kids had it. I believe you CAN get it on script and get it cheaper again, but it's really cheap as it is. Like $16.95 a tin.

My DS (now 2) was medically tested and diagnosed with lactose intollerance, which means you can get lactose free formula on script. Script price was about $5 per tin (karicare de-Lact). DD (8months) has milk protein intollerence (I know... Lucky me!!). I was just wondering if anyone knew if babies with diagnosed MPI got script price too.

we got neocate at $30ish / 8 small tins or $5ish per 8 small tins when I had a health care card. This was due to CMPI. The original script had to be done by a pead though.
