Default Wrestling with double embryo transfer decision

We did 9 cycles.... On the 9th we had the only 2 fresh embryos that survived and we now have 6 week old twins!! We are so happy- an instant family!! The girls are perfect and we are happy to be a complete family of four!! Good luck!!!

Default Wrestling with double embryo transfer decision

Our first cycle I had a 5 day single blast transfer (no frosties) and it didnt take. The second cycle we decided to transfer 2 embryos based on none surviving to the freeze stage. Our decision was based on not wanting to go through multiple fresh cycles (for financial reasons) and single transfers and none taking. We bit the bullet and did a 3 day double transfer. We are now the proud parents of a beautiful 3.5 month baby girl. Our thoughts going into the second transfer were that if I fell pregnant with twins that our family would be complete after just one pregnancy! Good luck with your decision.

Default Wrestling with double embryo transfer decision

I only had two single transfers on mc and Ds who is currently 20 weeks. I wasn't "allowed" to transfer two however I could have pushed for it. My concern is I've had a few friends fall naturally with twins and if one twin gets into trouble and miscarries it endangers the other and sometimes has resulted in losing both babies.

Do you have issues with your frosties? Because technically going separately you have two chances in stead of one for them to stay sticky. It's hard with ivf because of costs and time etc but if you feel both would take then go for it! It's your decision, twins would be lovely we are seriously considering it for the next round as my husband is finding pregnancy very stressful and wants to get this baby making business over with.

Congratulations to all of you who have had success and thanks for sharing your stories. I think we have decided to play it by ear and see what situation we are in on day 3 (transfer day). If we have more than 2 good looking embryos on day 3, we will only transfer one. But if there's only 2 embryos we will consider transferring both. Twins are not my preference, but this will probably be our last fresh cycle, so if we get twins I will have to deal with whatever comes and hope my body can cope with the pregnancy. After several failures (fresh and frozen), I am not all that confident that two would stick anyway. And if they do, I will try not to stress too much!! Deep breath.... Bring on March
Thanks again ladies and all the very best x
