    Another who says it depends on surname....but I'd say David or Robert. Christopher to me is about long.

    I like Theodore Robert. As others have said it flows better and is a strong name. Good luck deciding!

    Thanks everyone.

    So the surname is Maher, (pronounced Mar) so yes it is short.

    Basically my DH is Christopher, his farther is Robert, his step father is Ronald and my father is David, so we want it to be one of those, and we've already decided on Theodore if it's a boy.

    In that case, David, if your baby has hubby's surname I think your Dad would be delighted that you chose his name

    In that case (even though I still think robert flows better) I think david, after your father. That way he will have a name from both sides of the family.
