Which circumvents my question as to why babies aren't infected by seeing someone else yawn - at least mine aren't.
Tortoises aren't affected by contagious yawning either.

    lol tortoises yawning

In partial answer to your first question: psychological development occurs over a lifetime, with different stages of development occurring at different ages (& each person is slightly different in this regard)

Little fact regarding birds, they roost mainly. The foot of a bird wraps around the branch eg, some toes forward and some back so they don't fall off, this is actually their muscles in a relaxed position, they have to tense their muscles to release the branch as such.. This stops them from toppling out of the tree once asleep!

    Hope that made sense!
I have chickens and we used to have flat roosts for them, so they didn't have to grip
Thankfully now we use tree branches. Can't believe I didn't know this. Poor chickens.

Not really. Babies and children are ego centric and would not have developed empathy yet.

Sorry, sleep deprived brain chose the words for my previous post. I meant to say something along the lines of "That explains why my babies don't catch yawns yet. Now I don't have to post it as a question of my own."
