    Default Vanilla cake ideas

Im making a vanilla cake with vanilla icing but after ideas on what i can do to jazz it up a bit?

I remember a member posting something about a layer of jam or golden syrup or something on the bottom of the tin?

Sounds delish. I only know about jam in the middle, or some lemon curd. Or you could toast some coconut and sprinkle over the top?

    Sounds delish!

Making a bit of a honey cream for the centre would work.

I haven't heard of putting golden syrup in the pan. Why would you do that? Sounds interesting and delish.

I think with the golden syrup you would flip the cake when you take it out of the pan and it would be like a topping. Kind of like a self saucing pudding?

I think vanilla cakes are yum just as they are though
