You may wish to get pneumovax too!

I've had it every year for as long as I can remember (severe asthmatic) and never had an adverse reaction. Will definitely be getting it again this year and will be talking DP into it as well.

I don't know what to do either. I got the true flu last year and was horizontal for 8 days. Could barely drag myself to the toilet, it was horrendous. Then took a good month before I felt back to normal. I've never had a great feeling about the flu vax, but after that experience am wondering if I should get it this year ...?

I had this kind if flu years ago, hence why I started getting the vax. I'd never been so ill! And I never have again thank goodness!

Today I emailed the doctor who comes to work and gives our flu shots. I had read that taking extra Vit D3 could be an alternative and asked his opinion.

He said he recommends the flu shot to all Pregnant women and said he will bring the Sanofi brand Vaxigrip for me.

He said you want to avoid CSL brand fluvax.

    Hope this helps others.

Every year I had the flu vax up until I was 26 and always had the flu. Stopped getting the vax and stopped getting the flu until late last year (I'm 42) when I had a good 3.5 weeks of it. Not getting any rest with a 1 year old and being tired with my current pregnancy didn't help. I'm considering getting the flu vax again this year but scared that I'll get the flu just like I did in the early days. I think I'm just going to flip a coin :-)

Today is asked the midwife if I should get flu shot and she said she wouldn't. It's all personal opinion. So hard to choose!!
