Depends what its for... When I was at school, Mum used to make her own. Print my name off a million times on paper, cut them out, then use sticky tape to put them on. It was great till I started chewing my pencils!!!

When Mum and Dad were together, for my pencils, Dad would shave some of the coloured paint off the end of the pencil using scissors or a knife to expose the wood, then Mum would write our names on them. Was great as well, except for the pencil chewing problem I developed, and then the obsession with sharpening both ends lol

Bright Star Kids are good and I also had some Identity Direct ones years ago. Identity Direct are my favourite but they are quite $$.

What I have been doing lately though is just writing their names on their things with a Sharpie marking pen and just going over it every once and a while.

I have Tiny Me ones (from when they used to be Mooo) for DD1 and I haven't had any peel of yet. And all of her stuff gets washed in the dish washer! They are amazing

Identikid, but they plagued me with advertising material for months afterwards, big brochures in the post grrrr
But very sticky and sturdy. After maybe 6 months of daily use the writing stats to wear off or the sticker starts to fall apart. And that's on their everyday water bottle & snack box that are chucked into the backpack on every single outing. I got some labels with or name & my mobile number.

Bright star kids here. But haven't loved the sticky-ness. DS pulls them straight off
