Default Present for 2 year old boy

I have a birthday party for a 2 year old boy on the weekend and have no idea what to get him.... HELP!! I don't want to spend any more than $30. Any suggestions from Mummas of 2 year old boys would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Books... can't go wrong with books. Especially ones involving cars, trains, trucks, excavators etc! My 2 year old DS's favorite one is 'Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site' which a friend gave him for his birthday.

Also do you know if this child is into Thomas the Tank Engine? He seems to VERY popular amongst all the 2 year old boys I know.... DS is obsessed.

I have found that 2 year old boys like anything Cars related. I had been to 2 or 3 Cars (lightning mcqueen) themed party's for dd's friends who were turning 2 last year. Also as bitterpure suggested Thomas Is almost always a hit. I have no idea how much they are but dd1 got a magnadoodle for Christmas that she LOVES which a little boy might like also.

For my 2 year old - anything toy story, any kind of car, boat or motorcycle or helicopter or the present he lives the most now is a little lawn mower that he got for Xmas - he is out the back "mowing the lawn" as we speak!

My nephew was also a cars freak when he was two, toy isles in Big W and Target are usually full of it.
You could also get a selection of colouring books and pencils/crayons?
Or a kiddy camera thing, they're about $20ish (depending which store), pretty sure Big W, Target and Harvey Norman sell them.
There's also a ton of Toy Story toys on sale around so perhaps a big Buzz Lightyear or something?

I was going to suggest cars/vehicles as well. Boys around that age seem to go crazy for them.

My son went nuts over dinosaurs at that age. Still is in a big way.
