Folate is really the only thing you need to take, unless you are lacking in anything else. I recommend a pre-pregnancy blood test to check your immunity and iron levels. Most people will be deficient in vitamin D, once pregnant I would take a vitamin D/ calcium supplement. I used Blackmores which I found great but I also had to take loads of other things as blood tests showed deficiencies during my pregnancies, despite having a great diet.

I took a cocktail of vitamins, and I do believe that assisted DH and I to fall pregnant first time.
I second going to the doctor and checking out deficiencies ( but also check rubella levels, immunity, thyroid )
I was swaying for a girl so I took magnesium, calcium, cranberry, super greens and a conception vitamin. There were some others too ( I'll check when I get home).
I used swisse and Blackmores ( did also have an elevit too).
Now I am pregnant I havent been able to stomach much the past few weeks so I've found the Blackmores folate and iodine perfect and just use that (it's tiny)
From what I've read and heard it's a bit trial and error with what you can stomach.
I also started several months prior to TTC.

    Good luck

Blackmores made me feel like I needed to be sick - which is odd because no other multi ever did that (no pg, so not ms).

I've tried a range of them with 18 months ttc. I've settled on fabfol, folate and iron, as its cheap

I took megafol until about a month before we started TTC and then switched to Elevit. You can also get Menavit for the blokes!

I'd recommend the Blackmores I-folate as all you probably need, especially if it's taking a while (it's cheap). I've used the blackmores preconception and they made me feel nauseous if I took them on an empty stomach. I haven't tried the fabfol plus but was keen to give that one a go. I'm currently taking swisse pregnancy (and preconception) vitamins as they were on special this week at Chemist warehouse (worked out much cheaper per day than fabfol or blackmores). I'm hoping I'll actually be pregnant this cycle so wanted something that I could use for pregnancy and preconception.
