Default Please don't tell me it's measles :-(

My 4 month old DD has been a bit off colour recently. She recently had a runny nose and bad cough which has gone away but has a noticeable lack of appetite, did an enormous projectile vomit this morning when she's never sick and suddenly has some red spots on her cheek and ears. It started with one this morning but is now 3 or 4. She is incredibly grouchy and is normally a very placid and happy baby. Im not sure she has a temperature but she does seem warmer but that may be from the hysterical tears I've just had for 20 minutes. Is this just a culmination of lots of little things and I'm reading too much into it or is it something else.

Hoping someone's been there done that and could give me some advice. TIA.

Teething? Could even just be the heat. Take her temperature, make sure she's hydrated enough and if there's any change take her to the hospital or have a GP home visit.
Maybe even give Health Direct a call for peace of mind.

Ummm go to a doctor? There are however lots of things that cause spots, I doubt it's measles.

Your not gonna get a answer here . Spots could be anything. Dr or hospital is the only way.

There heaps of things that have harmless spots and some real nasty ones so go see a dr and they will tell you which one it is.

    This.

Could be nothing to worry about or could be something else. Just see a Dr and then you will know either way. I lost count of how many times DD#1 had rashes which were basically nothing to worry about at all. There is however a huge chicken pox outbreak around here at the moment too though.

    I hope its nothing.

Thanks for your comments. I've spoken with Health Direct as no doctors are open around our area on Saturday afternoon. They have asked me to keep an eye on it for now and ring back immediately if any more spots come out. She seems to be a bit more settled now and I've just put her to bed so fingers crossed. She's due her 4 month shots on Monday so I will speak to our GP then if I don't get more concerned about it before then.

Enjoy your Saturday night. I'm off for a much needed sit down and a drink!
