How weird did it sound with the driver running away naked from the scene?!? That better not have been a conscious decision, hmmm let's give him the benefit of the doubt and presume he was in shock

    ^This exactly.
The ambos would try and get there as fast as they could.

    Tragic for all involved.

It pains me when I read that an 'unborn' baby is not considered viable in terms of common law .

Yes that's what I was getting at. I was just surprised at the title of the article and the comments made condemning the ambos.
It's more the fault of the naked probably drunk or drugged person she got in the car with.

Totally agree, I'm sure they didn't stop for a sausage roll on the way. Some journalism is just so inflammatory, they just want you to get angry and whinge at 'the government'

Poor bubba... Bubbas should be 'counted' if they are far along enough that they had a reasonable chance of survival outside the womb.

I wonder if the poor mum was forced into the car with the druggo naked no license idi@t?

Yes sorry poor choice of words on my part. She could well have been forced into the car against her will.

Oh that poor family . Such a tragic thing to happen, and I can only imagine how the people that were first on the scene feel right now. There's nothing quite as traumatic as an accident that involves children and seeing the mother of an unborn child pass away and not being able to do anything to help the bub. So very sad.

Being devils advocate here but if you give the unborn the same rights as the living then you are taking away the rights of the mother.

Ie it stops being "your body- your choice". Then pregnant women could be charged with endangerment for eating the 'wrong' foods, drinking, smoking, medication, traveling in the last trimester, inappropriate footwear and poor choices etc

You could further extend that to all babies deserve the right to 'drug free natural birth' regardless of the mothers wants. And possibly the right for mums to chose bf or not.

That is a complete spin off tho.

I don't mean to trivialize the tragedy but we have to be careful when it comes to the rights of bub vs the rights of mum.
