Default Childs bed - metal or wood?

    Hi all.

We are looking for bedroom furniture for dd and are wanting it in white.

Was looking at packages but they are quite expensive so are happy with just a bed and tall boy separately and spend the money on a good mattress.

Just curious if anyone had bought the metal wrought iron look and how they have found it? Its quite a bit cheaper than a wooden bed.

We have an ensemble so i really have no idea!

I think it can look really nice and as we rent i want something thats hardy for if and when we move and im worried wood will scratch, chip easier etc.

We are looking at something like this....these are the ones i like first two being metal of course and the second wood. Thoughts?455070001_4.jpg386940002_de_ls_1.jpgHandler.jpg

I perfer wood as it goes with our furniture. Though we are getting an iron one (well i dont think its actually iron) because they are cheaper.

I hate hate hate the metal beds. BUT there is a reason! When I was a kid I had a red one that was like two bended bars one at each end (does that make sense?) anyway in a huff I threw myself on the bed and slammed my tooth against the bar! I actually chipped the paint off! It hurt so so much (all the years have done is amplify that pain! How my tooth didn't break I have no idea!) I was already cross and so you can imagine what that did! I despised my bed from that moment on and it's now carrying thru to choosing DDs furniture!
    Long story short - wood

ETA: I do think that first one is pretty - but I'm tainted!

Haha yep that damn thing lasted for many a year with only that one chip! And I wasn't very nice to it! I tried to graffiti it, mum got it straight off with ease! I tried to key it, nothing! Grr!
But it was not remotely as pretty as bed number 1! So maybe if I'd had a pretty bed I could have forgiven it
