Lotus is a fave lately. Not with Moon, I don't like that... but just Lotus. It seems so girly to me.

    Default Are unusual names cruel?

If I had my way, I'd name my children after characters... Like Zuko or Hermione.. Or id give them really hippy names.
But I am giving this child (if it's a boy ) a very acceptable and normal name, but not for fear of being thought cruel some parents can be cruel through how they dress their kids or making their sons do ballet

I have always always always liked the name Hermione.

    It's been ruined though.

    So has Edward.

I'm putting my hand up to say I've seen L-a!! She lives in Brisbane.

    Duke can't be a name as it's a title.

    # was overseas very recently.

There's a huge difference between unusual names and outright ridiculous or spelling that makes you, the parent, look like an uneducated twit.

Not too sure, I just saw it on msn. Not exactly the most reliable source of information though. Either way, it's stupid!

Default Re: Are unusual names cruel?

Okay... these are not unusual names, but DH just suggested the names Timothy and Tamara for boy/girl twins... When calling them for dinner: "Tim Tam, time for dinner"! lol

I told him I don't like them because his name starts with T

Oh how I'd love boy/girl twins though
