Lol yes! It's hard to visualize something bad. It happens to me for all kinds of names. I knew a Owen who I strongly didn't like so I didn't like the name, till a friend had her baby and called him Owen and I like it again because he's adorable

The names la-a and abcde aren't entirely awful when heard pronounced. But the spelling is just stupid and trashy.

DSs name is Kayde. I used that spelling as it was spelt that way the first time I saw the name, so it's what stuck. But he often gets Kay-dee which annoys me. He'd have to spell it no matter how it was spelt as there are so many variations.

I was surprised by how much I liked the name Harliquinn reading it in this thread! I think it's cute, funky and pretty. Looks like it suits her to a T.

And if she gets older and feels like she doesn't want to use it, she can always use Harley or Quinn. But she'll probably just rock her name and no-one will ever question it.

I wasn't aware that it was a disease...never of heard it before, so didn't make the association.
Well that's exactly right if she's not happy with it she has the option, as do many other people with strange or unique names. Thats kind of why it doesn't bother me what a child is named. I mean we call our kids nick names anyway such aspick Mac moo, Bosh Rom and Mouk Mouk they have no close resemblance to their names.

I have a strange name and not many people call me by it and If they do they get it wrong and it doesn't really bother me I like it

It's true. We spent months agonising over names for DD before settling on Alice.

Do you know what we call her? "The Moo".

It's actually not an unusual name, just not overly popular in Australia... yet I have been told that it's disgraceful I named my son after a serial killer. .. to which my response is No, I heard the name on a fictional show about a serial killer and I liked it... I see no problem at all.

    I love that name

By those people's standard the names Theodore, Lewis, Daniel, Gary, Alexander, John, Karl, Dean, Ronald, William, Patrick, Paul and hundreds more would be "disgusting".

I agree, that's another one that is secondary. The drink is named Bailey's after a hotel in London, which in turn was named after a member of parliament!
