Yes if it's a group thing let it be known... Some people such as myself only like one on one play dates... Im not a hugely social person and am uncomfortable in groups of women. Doesn't mean I don't like those other women in just prefer one on one play dates etc.

    Default Playdate politics

I have never been to or hosted a playdate without everyone knowing who would be there. I'd find it really odd if I went to a friend's house and they had invited another friend there without mentioning it.

    It depends.

For my playgroup friends I wouldn't normally say, as there's a group of us who all get on well, and we all kind of assume that others will be there at play dates. We do them several times a week too, so it's all pretty casual.

For other friends I would normally say, as we don't do play dates as regularly, so it's a bit more of an 'event'.

I'd always say who I was inviting. I've been stung once and I was not happy.

Me and another playgroup mum arranged to go to a farm then the night before when we were talking she just said oh I invited x as well. Now I would never say this to anyone but her son is a horrible boy who constantly punches and pushes my DD and is really mean and naughty but the problem is he never gets in trouble for it!!! So I try to avoid events where he will be.

I generally let people know if others are coming except when I forget I have invited someone else...... Which happens too.........
