I had a high bmi pre pregnancy (weighed 79kg at 160cm tall) and my doctor recommended gaining no more than 6kg, I think I ended up being up 7kg and he was okay with that. As hard as it is they really do say it because its in your best interest. There are obviously things that can't be taken into account, such as fluid retention. if you're eating healthy and exercising I'd try not to worry

Oh update. The day before I had my girl I weighed 57.5kg so gained 7.5kg.

She weighed 3.4kg and the rest fell off in a few days. I am thinner now than pre-pregnancy because of the gestational diabetes I ate so strictly and then breastfeeding I guess has helped. I'm eating a lot of high calorie food as I'm so starving. I've gained a tiny but back on my stomach at 4 weeks post partum but still look thinner than I normally do.

    Wow!!! You girls are amazing!!!
I gained around 6-7kg. But when i was at gp last week i weighed myself and i am only down 3kg. My tummy has gone down heaps, I breastfeed exclusively, and I eat very healthy. Sometimes I wonder if I even eat enough for someone who is breastfeeding. Maybe it is because tjis is my fifth child???
Well done on the weightloss though!

    Love the photo bwana!

I just weighed in at my Dr, 8 days post c section and I am at my pre pregnancy weight. I didn't expect to lose it so quickly but I didn't eat much the few days I was in hospital so that probably helped

Well......i had quite a healthy appetite in hospital. In the last week and a half though it is just fairly normal.
I trying not to be too hard on myself though. I will lose it eventually.

I wouldn't worry at all. Your body is probably more adjusted than mine being your fifth and my first!

Congrats bwana-I don't know if I have congratulated you yet!!

Well done to you 3 on your quick weight losses!

I'm happy with my overall gain of 9kg at 36 weeks and I've actually only gained 1kg in the past month and a half. So feeling good.

Last day of work tomorrow-then hopefully just a few weeks before we meet bub!!

I didn't put on any weight this week - WooHoo!!!!!!! So, 13kg gain at 29 weeks. A few more weeks of no weight gain and I should be back on track!
