I was overweight before falling pregnant at 78kgs. So not huge but still overweight. I also had pre eclampsia with DD and putting on too much weight can contribute to the chances of it happening again. The problem is more that I have put on 2kgs in the last four weeks as opposed to the total amount I have gained. with DD I put on 25kg during my pregnancy and do not want that to happen again. Although a lot of it was excess fluid as I was 15kg lighter in the week after having her.
Still 2kg in 4 weeks doesn't sound like much when the bub is growing so much and you are probably gaining more fluid too.
I like the idea of losing 15kg in the week after baby is born
I haven't read much about pre eclampsia - what is that all about?

Thanks MrsL! I was pretty worried coz I had dogged the gym for two weeks haha. My doctor is happy with my gain though, I guess its just a matter of being careful for the next 12 weeks so I don't balloon lol

I'm 18 weeks. Started pre-pregnancy at 68-69kg. At my 10 week doctors appointment I was 65.5kg and am currently around 68-69kg. So no weight gain, but a lot of fluctuation.

Well done quix! I only started gaining after that point and its all been downhill from there lol but I have actually lost weight off other areas of my body, mostly my legs, and my face hasn't gotten any chubbier so I can't complain! Think the gain is all boobs and belly

I'm up 6.8kgs at 29 weeks with some gastro thrown in the mix. I'm reasonably happy with that as it appears my gain has slowed down lots. I'm normal weight so allowed to gain 11-15kgs, but I want to keep it below 10kgs. Does anyone know when we start to pack on the fluid kgs?
