Default Cost to get tubes checked for blockage?

Hi storm. Are you able to request a referral over the phone? Both my GP and FS have done this for me on the provision that I make an appointment to discuss the results. Women's diagnostic at the Mater (South Brisbane) accept faxed referrals (if they do that particular scan). They will also give you a price over the phone if you call. Also ask if they are able to bulk bill, it would reduce the upfront cost, rather than having to go to Medicare.
Qscan is also at the Mater.

I am booked in for next week to get my HSG done and a lipiodal flush.
    Anyone had the flush done?
Also what did you do to prepare for this procedure as I am dreading it?!!
    Thanks

Good luck storm girl. I didn't have either of these done but the dr told me to take 2 panadol an hour before my hycosy. I found it quite uncomfortable and if having it done again I'd take something stronger (panadiene?). Let us know how you go.

Just keep telling yourself it'll be over really quick and hopefully you'll get a little baby soon after
    Good luck.

I had it done and was expecting the worst ( took two neurofen plus an hr before) but it was actually fine. Didn't feel a thing and it was quite quick. I think it hurts more if you have a blockage. So you might be lucky like I was.

Hate to say it, but if you are embarking on IVF you'll need to get used to all sorts of procedures and people looking at your downstairs. You won't even notice it after awhile.

Hope it all goes well for you.

OK I had my HSG done yesterday and can honestly say that I was stressed over nothing! Did not really hurt at all, was super quick and I have only had mild cramping since (off and on). I actually find pap smears worse!
Apparently my tubes were clear so that may have made it painfree, not to mention I took painkillers before I went in.
The one thing I am worried about is that they were meant to do a lipiodal flush too (which I supplied) but I have a feeling they forgot to do it. It felt like only 30 secs from when they put the dye in to when it was all over so I not sure how they got the time to do the flush as well. I asked the nurse(?) and she said he had done it but I am not sure ... it is meant to be thick gluggy fluid but I have lost nothing since the procedure (except tiny little bit of dye) and I am sure she said I might have some loss down there after.
Has anyone else had the lipiodal flush done and what was your after experience with it?
Also were you told when you could start ttc again after the HSG?? Some say you can try straight away where I have heard that other people have been told to wait for 48 hours!

I do have this on another post so I apologise if you are reading this twice!
