Default What did labour (contractions) feel like to you?

I had 3 days of pre labour. Contractions around every 5 mins getting me nowhere!!! I had intense back pain and tightening across my stomach. After the 3rd day when I was only 3 cm I cried. Then they induced me.

My son was also posterior, so it was like really intense back pain. Like my muscles were being stretched to breaking point and then released. Pushing was the worst for me. I actually thought I was going to die. Ha ha. Probably didn't help that I was losing consciousness at this stage and that my son was stuck with his head out and the rest still in. I did have an epidural but it didn't work. so pushing stage felt like trying to poop a bowling ball that just wasn't coming out! They eventually did an epi and manoeuvred him out and it was immediate relief! No more pain at all! Yay!

I didn't get a break, overstimulation from the prostin gel meant 1 giant, ongoing pain that felt so horrendous all I could do was cry and tell DH that we could never, ever do this again. I won't either, straight to elective csection.

I should add that after the 2nd dose of gel that it came on so quickly and it felt like the most incredible period pain that I couldn't walk or stand and like my stomach was ripping apart internally and like everything was going to fall out my butt. I was wheeled up very quickly. The worst bit was the internals.

I remember climb the bed and the wall trying to "get away" from the waves of pain.
My friend told me she did the same thing.
