Default Advice needed - Changing childrens schools part way through the year.

Hi I am after some words of advice, we are facing a big dilemma in our household and the stress levels are big. My DP has had to move interstate for work and we were meant to leave with him when he did but our house had a flood issue and we are still waiting on the insurance repairs before we can rent out our home. My biggest dilemma now is that we wont have moved before the new term starts in a few weeks and I am worried about starting my son back at school only to move interstate a month or so later. The option for us to stay here while DP ia away isnt really do-able as it would financially strain us even more.

I would love to hear from parents who have moved their children part way through the year and what affect it had on your child? My son is very social and makes friends very easily I just feel really bad at the thought of it.

We are enormously stressed about the whole situation, the kids are missing their dad terribly and we all want to be together again. Any advice would be great.

    Thanks for listening.x

    What grade is he in?

If its likely only for a month or so, could you arrange with the new school some homework type activities to ensure he doesn't fall behind but doesn't have to disrupt the first term back at school?

I moved my ds half way through last year and like your ds he's social and makes friends quickly.
He was fine, he has made friends ( went to 2 bday parties) and adjusted very well even doing better academically at the end of the year.
