Default Which bottle did your bf baby like?

Both of mine would only go for the classic nuk teats, after buying heaps of avent bottles, niether of them would use them.

We tried many, then a friend recommended Pigeon with the wide peristaltic teats. Did the trick for us!

Now he'll drink from anything though 😉

Ds from 6 weeks would only take pigeon and nuk. Dd from about 10 weeks would take ebm from pigeon and tommee tippee closer to nature - they were great! I found both my kids gagged on the advent teats for some reason.

Donna, I am a bit puzzled but your bub will need to suck at the nipple to get milk out, so wouldnt bub suck the teat? Is the Calma teat variable flow? Meaning Y-cut.

To the OP (whose bub has already accepted the bottle), I find the Pigeon silicon teats really soft to use and close to our nipples. They have S, M, L, Y-cut and available in Chemist Warehouse.

My first would never take a bottle of any sort and would starve in daycare for hours and then catch up at night. My second with give anything a go. Cup feeding is usually a good option for breastfed babies, as practiced by prem babies in NICU.

I had never thought of it like that. But I guess what I meant is as soon as my boob is out he is trying to get it in his mouth and starts sucking so obviously knows milk will come out of them. Whereas with the bottle I guess it looks, smells and feels different so he reacts differently to it. Tries to push it out of his mouth rather than suck. With the normal bottles you can get some out without sucking, like a few drops, so once I got that on his lip he did start sucking. But wi the calma nothing comes out at all until he starts sucking.

We gave him another bottle of EBM today and he wouldnt suck at first so I put EBM on the teat before putting it in his mouth and he took it and drained it. So the test will be the next bottle I guess.

Not sure if this has already been said, but I could not for the life of me get DD2 to take a bottle so I ended up cup feeding her. I ended up not even worrying about a sippy cup etc, so she has always just had her drinks in a cup (well besides BF obviously).
