Another for medela calma, they need to use it in the same way they use a breast so its great for bf bubs.

First bottle wasn't til 4 months, Tommee Tippee closer to nature. She is now nearly 11 months and has never had nipple confusion

My boy took avent with a slow flow teat from 4 weeks.

Are you sure the bottle/teat is the problem and not the temperature of the EBM or the time at which bub is being fed?

Dd at 8m pigeon wide neck straight away with no problems.

Ds at 7m refused all brands, then about 4m later i tried him again on pigeon narrow neck and he initially only drank about 50ml but now at 17m loves his bottle.

Sorry op to hijack but for those who use the medela calma how did you get bubs to start sucking it when you first introduced it?

i have one that came with my pump and we tried it once (he has only had EBM once) and he just seemed to be getting frustrated and pushing it out of his mouth. I have thought maybe putting some milk on the outside of the teat so he realises he needs to suck it.

i would really like him to use this as I am paranoid about him favouring the bottle.

I didn't BF for long, but from v early on (first few weeks) DD was happy to drink from the Pigeon glass bottles, with newborn teats.

They're hard to find, so I stocked up whenever I spotted them. You can usually get them at pharmacies.

It took a couple of goes. I half fed her from my boob and then put some milk on the teat. Make sure you put the whole teat in their mouth, even though it seems really long, their lips should flange out on the bell part of the teat in the same way as they do on the breast. If they aren't attached properly they won't get anything.
