I had my first scan on the 27th. I have another scan this week I think I have to go pick up the forms, as I said, I may have to switch doctors.

I have an ultrasound Friday, if its ectopic surely you would be able to tell by this point right?

My first ectopic took 3 weeks to rupture and that was after I had methotrexate. It can sometimes take a while especially if you found the pregnancy early.

Any good dr who suspects ectopic should be checking your HCG levels every day and doing internal scans until they find something on the scan. Ectopics aren't something you sit around and wait for!

Please get a second opinion. I don't want to be all doom and gloom but I nearly died with my second one. It's serious stuff...

    Good luck x

I had a scan at 5 weeks due to bleeding and the doctor thought it was ectopic as it only showed a cyst (turned out to be unfertilised egg) in my left tube. 6 week scan showed sac and heartbeat. Most stressful week ever thinking every cramp was going to be my tube rupturing. Fx for you

I had cramping the day I found out I was pregnant. The day before my period was due.

I had extreme cramps and couldn't get off the bed. Lasted about an hour, after I was sore but okay.

Seen doctor the next day and ectopic was his fear so off I went to ER. Scan lady was lovely and told me I had an ectopic.

All results were dubious and it was safer to open so my wonderful OB did a laparoscopy and found it was a bleeding corpus luteum. Didn't want a delay if it was an ectopic. He simply cleared out the blood and closed me up to wait and see what happened.

3 weeks I waited for a scan heart beat. Fingers crossed but I am now 15 weeks and doing well.

I really do feel for you as this is a stressful time if unknown for you. I just can't get over how relaxed your doctors approach is. When I worked in ultrasound (as a nurse not sonographer) we prioritised any suspected ecptopic scan. Even if a lady didn't have an appt we would fit her in somewhere!

I would personally look into an other doctor (that's what I would do, no way am I trying to persuade you)

Yeah it's really stressful. I just had blood tests done and now I just have to wait until Friday. I just want to know, I'm going crazy.

Missh have they told you your hcg reading? Usually it's a key indicator too and is below what it should be for a normal pregnancy and therefore not doubling every few days.

I had a whole bunch of blood taken yesterday, I think they took 4 vials :S but I have an ultrasound tomorrow, have to wait till next week for the blood test results. I really hope I see my blueberry tomorrow, I'm so nervous I won't sleep tonight.

Hmm so you've only had bloods yesterday? And nothing a couple of days before? I find this upsetting if so! They should have fast tracked your test results and you would have them by now gggrrr I wish some people would take ectopic risks seriously, it can be life threatening!!!
Sorry but I was mismanaged after being diagnosed with an ectopic and it ruptured - very painful and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
Fingers crossed your scan reveals a baby in the right place.
