Another sad update. Although all of buba's problems are surgically fixable they think because of his trisomy 18 that he will be too small and weak to save.

I have been told I can have a Caesar is if want but that it isn't recommended as his prognosis is so bad it isn't worth the risks to me.

However he isn't expected to survive a natural labour if he makes it to his EDD at all.

We will no longer have scans every other day just the occasional appointment to check his heart is still beating

I'm devastated I don't know what choices to make anymore.

I'm currently waiting to see a doctor to set up his comfort care options (oxygen feeding tubes etc)

I'm so sorry ally, what awful news. How many weeks are you now? When is your EDD? Please know that you are a mom and a very loving one. I know angus knows how much you love him. You are doing such an amazing job exploring all your options and making sure you give him the best chance possible. You are keeping him safe and warm and loved.

I try to be grateful that we had Clem for even the short time we did, she and our experience has already made us better people and will continue to do so through her memory. I'm very grateful we got to hold her and give her kisses and see what she looked like (like her dad).

Let me know if you ever want to talk, scream, cry, be quiet.

Ally, that is just so heartbreaking

The doctors will be able to shed some light on the best course of action for you both. I can't imagine how difficult your journey has been so far.

    Thinking of you
