More likely the bi carb is reacting to the alkaline/acidity of the urine. Those who got fizz need to drink more water! Sorry to be the fun police

I don't think anyone is taking it seriously, it's just a bit of a laugh. Geez, relax.

I actually just thought someone might want to know the science behind the test. That the baking soda is indicative of the pH of the urine.
If you get fizz it's acidic, this can mean dehydration, a high protein diet and many other factors.
Urine really should be alkaline or neutral.
I'm actually pretty relaxed, I agree that the test is harmless. Just giving you guys some facts!

Fair enough, it is hard to read tone via text.

Funny because it says virginia ph should be acidic for a girl and basic for boy

Well lets just all agree this test isn't 100% accurate it just 50% for some it will accurately tell them what they are having for others just let you know your dehydrated hahaha it's all fun and games I think

No, no that's fine! I actually work in the field so it interests me.
Vaginal ph should be acidic 3.5-4.5. This keeps the levels of bacteria in check. Douching, semen and blood etc can raise pH but if your levels are too far off your vagina won't be happy!
As far as I'm aware vaginal pH doesn't have anything to do with the ph of urine.
I did all of these tests when I was pregnant with my son so I get it

    Default Baking soda gender test

Thanks Nelly :-) - seems pretty spot on so far! By the way I think someone mentioned earlier also about if it was true about urine as a gender test there would something already available.

I'm pretty sure there is a similar test that my sister bought that cost about $100 though - and that tests acidity / alkaline with a pee test too. It claims that it is 90% accurate, which seems to be the case with this test too.
